Company Profile:

Mukand Limited, a Bajaj group company is a leading manufacturer of specialty steel long products and heavy machinery in India, with a turnover of over Rs 5,000 Crore. Incorporated in the year 1937, the company has two divisions namely Steel and Industrial Machinery. The Steel division manufactures specialty steel long products in the form of Wire Rods, Bars, Wires and Bright Bars that feed into the automobile and engineering industries. The Industrial Machinery Division designs, manufactures, assembles and commissions heavy-duty cranes, bulk material handling equipment, process plant machinery and turnkey projects. Mukand produces Alloy Steel from its facility in Hospet, Karnataka and Stainless Steel from its facility in Thane, Maharashtra.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with external suppliers for all Machine Building vendoring requirements
  • Create schedules for vendors based on the production schedule
  • Coordinate and follow-up with external suppliers for delivery requirements of vendored items
  • Drive coordination with internal stakeholders (including Manufacturing, Materials) for smooth execution of the production plan
  • Maintain master data of vendors and their assessment reports
  • Conduct regular market research for available vendors and assess their capabilities
  • Conduct initial negotiations for vendoring requirements
  • Monitor vendor adherence to statutory requirements and Mukand quality standards
  • Identify and develop vendor networks for new products
  • Review material received from vendor for quality checks and defects, and coordinate in case of any rework
  • Resolve any queries received from vendors regarding MBD requirements
  • Conduct occasional visits to vendor locations to inspect progress status and adherence to guidelines
  • Review vendor bills and share for approvals

      Position Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Engineering or equivalent is required
      • Experience 4+ years in production planning / vendor management, preferably in heavy equipment manufacturing industry
